An extract tripel 7 yrs ago that I dry hopped the fuck out of. I still have some of those nasty bottles lying around. The beer is so oxidized now that it pours a brownish color. Probably serve it to the crazies at my homebrew club!

My second batch, which was supposed to be a Brown Ale. After a great first batch (APA), I thought I was ready to rock and roll. No so. That stuff tasted like someone dropped a Werther's Butterscotch and a cat turd in a bottle of club soda. Fortunately, that has been my only real DumperBrau to date (knock on wood!). It happens to the best of brewers- caution and practice can only take you so far.
Prost!

I made a Belgian Dubble that I thought was horrid. But just for grits and shiggles, I sent it into a comp and it scored a 33. So I guess it was more I just hate the style than it was a bad beer.

My most recent "cooking only" beer was following one of Randy M's recipes for a chilli beer in Radical Brewing. You can probably guess; figured I like it spicy, lets go with the upper end of the range. Worked great for cooking...well, chilli.

I made the same mistake. The only beer I ever made that was even worse was the one I made just after this one.

I thought I'd get the chili right the second time but ended up using too little. It was not hot at all but had a faint "sweet bell pepper" flavour. (At best - I guess that flavour may also have been DMS)
Fermenting:
Midvinter Sortale (Xmas beer)

Lagering:
Swaber (US barley wine)

Drinking:
Delphi Honey Saison
KKK (Kölsch)
Pym's Tiger (Chili Porter)

Made a Russian Imperial Stout. Decided to rack 1 gal. on top of sour pie cherries. The other 4 gals. without cherries. After 2 months in secondary, it was bottling time. Waited 2 months before tasting my first bottle of each. The non-cherries are awesome. The cherries leave something to be desired. Barely any cherry flavor or aroma. A lot of sourness. I am letting them age. Thank goodness I have only 4 bottles left after several taste tests.

I'm going to leave out the contaminated beers that I have managed to brew over the years. That would be too long a list.

The worst beer I ever brewed was Goat Scrotum Ale from Charlie Papazian's book, complete with spruce essence. Dear Lord, that was nasty.

And my home smoked mesquite malt makes delightfully plastic/band-aid tasting beer. (Don't smoke the grain for two hours!)
