Bourbon in beer

Tue Jan 25, 2011 3:48 am

I want to oak age a Baltic porter, and would like to add some bourbon to it. I was thinking about soaking the oak cubes in a bit of bourbon, and ad the whole thing to the keg before aging. How much bourbon would be right for a 5 gallon keg? Thanks for any input you might have.

I used a cup w/ my oak chips then dumped the whole thing in.

Unless you really like burbon I would not do that.

I generally use about 6 ounces. Use a good bourbon.

I use enough bourbon to cover the oak in my Oak Aged Bourbon Porter.
