Smoked Hop IPA

Sun Apr 18, 2010 7:58 am

Well...I was talking to a friend last week and she said 'You think we can smoke some of the hops for this weekend's beer?'.
While I had not tried it, I said sure...why not.....Bacon is good smoked, why not hops!

So we brewed an American IPA at 1.058.

Used warrior for bittering and homegrown cascade, sterling and nugget for flavor/aroma.
We smoked 2 oz each of Cascade and Nugget over Oak for 30 min and added them at 5.

Smelled great during and after the boil....just wondering how much will be scrubbed out by the ferment?
The BN Army.......you can't have a revolution without soldiers!!!

Always try to be the person that your dog thinks you are!
