Coco nibs

Sun Sep 27, 2009 6:11 am

I just won a bunch of coco nibs and have an american stout going. Curious any body ever use these. Do they add any color if added in secondary? Do they add any sweetness? How much have people been using? And what styles of beer? Any advice would be appreciated.

Exactly. Found out they are fermented on the forrest floor.

I now soak them in vodka before adding.

Hey bigdan, on the Session with Tcho Chocolate, they said to start by using 4 oz. of nibs and go from there. If you want to add more, you can. But they suggested starting with 4. try it and let us know what happens.

Cheers!
