I know topic's a little old but I wanted to add my experience.

For several years I've been on a budget and would only buy Rahr Pilsen b/c it was $40/bag--all I would allow my budget.

I brew mostly German and Czech lagers. I was never satisfied with them until I bought a bag of Weyermann FM BoPils and a bag of Best Malz Pils. My beers are finally what I envisioned them to be. Continental malt makes a huge difference in these beers and is worth the extra $$ IMHO.
