Really? Do you only use it in the boil or add to the fermenter as well? (as I do usually)
And how much head space do you have?

I use it in the boil only. I have a 6 gallon better bottle that I fill to 5 gallons.

I usually use a blow off tube but it isn't needed most of the time. The one I was referring to in my previous post was a beer that I repitched on a yeast cake, since he ws wondering if the anti-foam affected the repitched yeast.

But was the anti foam added to the first beer during fermentation or the boil? I would think if it was the boil that it probably would not transfer over that much to the fermenter if it too dropped out when chilled.

I frequently use it in my boil as well as primary fermentation. I've never experience any bad effects from using it and I frequently have about 6 gallons in my 6.5 gallon fermenter and never require a blowoff tube.
