Hersbrucker Hops

Mon Nov 27, 2006 3:18 am

Hey Guys,

I just scored a nice bunch of beautifully fresh Hersbrucker Hop pellets from work. They'd be from the most recent hop harvest, and have obviously been stored perfectly. I watched them cut open the big foil bag from germany, and this fantastic smell just came pouring out.... wow.

I couldn't wait to brew with them, so there is a Hefe bubbling vigor-ous-ely away behind me as I type this, but Hefes dont exactly showcase the hops.... So what beer do you guys think would really show off the lovely stink of these puppies.

They smell all citrusy and zesty to me, so I thought that they would go really well in a pale ale, leaning towards the american end of the spectrum. Maybe blended with some more traditionally american hops.

What think you all? I have enough for a fair few batches, so I'm willing to experiment a bit.

Ideas...
