Grain storage

How do you store your grain? I bye 50 Lb sacks of base grain and store them in bulk pet food containers with no problems because I go threw it quickly (2 to 3 months). But with that being said its the smaller amounts that I don't go threw as quickly that I'm concerned about. So how do you store the 0.5 lbs to 5 Lbs quantity for 6 to 10 months, AND how long will it stay "fresh"? Any one using Foodsaver canisters? Are they worth the cost?
Thanks

What I don't think is included in this thread is that the Vittles Vaults are available in small sizes too.
