Yeah I kinda highjacked my own thread :? . Anyway I plan on racking a small portion of my spiced beer (when I finally get around to brewing it) onto some dried apples. thanks for the freshness tip I'll probably check out my local organic grocery store and see what I can find. I'll post my results when I "get er done".

On the subject of insoluble stuff in the bottle anyone every but whole leaf hops in the bottle? I thought it might be cool to put a hop cone from my fall harvest into a bottle of my IBA. I don't imagine It would add much but It might impress some of my non-brewing friends. :drink
