Just To Clarify...

Fri Sep 11, 2009 3:30 pm

I am making a Fat Tire clone tomorrow. Using the Mr. Malty Pitch Rate Calculator, I am using Wyeast 1272 from a yeast cake. It say # ml of yeast needed: 97
So I only need 97 ml of my yeast slurry?
I have never re-pitched before.

Thank you in advance.

Think about a While Labs vial for a second, I think there is about 25ml in that size. With just under 100ml you will have about 4 vials of yeast (assuming they are still alive and healthy).
On Tap: Dark Mild (x2), Honey Hefe
Fermenting: A.Bastard Clone, Wee Heavy, S/70, Eng. Barleywine
On Deck: ?

and consider... 25-35% is probably trub, you're down into the 2-3 vial pitch range.
