using tea to replace hops for bittering

hey i gots a dumb newbe question

1.can i use a strong tea for bittering instead of hops?

2. if i wanted to add tea for flavor when should i do it, do i need to sanitize the tea first if i do it in secondary?

Interesting idea, but you might have issues with astringency.

Don't do it... way too much tannin.

Herbal teas are ok if they don't have any actual tea in them (like blueberry, peach, etc.), but real tea + alcohol = :nutters:
