This is my first time at kegging....did I done good?

I set the PSI to 20, shook the keg like a new born baby and have left it at 20PSI. When I get home from work tonight I will drop the PSI to 5 for serving.
Is this correct?

I've only had my kegs for a 6 months as well, but my method is taken from the homer show. I turn the psi to 35-40 for a good seal then I turn it down to 25 for two days. I turn it down to 8-10 psi for another two to three days and start drinking.

I'm no expert yet at kegging but I'm not a fan of the high-pressure shake method. From what I've read it can easily lead to over-carbonation. Ideally your draft system should be balanced so that the carbonation pressure is the same as the serving pressure. If you are only serving at 5psi, as the keg drains the pressure will balance at that level and you'll have under-carbonated beer.

In theory a keg should carbonate within 3-4 days if you just set it and leave it. Shaking it should speed the process up by getting the CO2 into solution quicker. If your target psi is 12, just set it there and shake the keg for 30 seconds every hour or so and you should have beer ready to drink within 24 hours.
