Your are mostly correct on the 750 mLs. The three Philosophers is a cave-aged Three Philosophers version(more info). I got it as a gift from my folks.

I was in PA over the holidays and I brought Mad Elf back with me. One is a '06 and the other is an '07. I plan on doing a tasting.

FWIW, to alternately serve corny and sankey kegs without having to switch connectors, I installed corny keg posts on my sankey tap.

I think I also want to get a gas manifold with check values. Any suggestions on the best way to hook up two different types of kegs?

I've always thought a tailpiece with a 1/4" MFL connector was the way to go. You can also make the equivalent from a regular tailpiece and a regular 1/4" barbed flare fitting with a piece of tubing in between. It's not really a quick disconnect; more of a quick enough disconnect. If you go this route, make sure you get a handful of the nylon washers too. You won't be able to get them at your local hardware store.

I like Tasty's method of connecting a corny post to tailpieces even better. Does that require welding to fabricate?

I used short pieces of tubing and these stainless kizmos that I can't seem to find on B3 anymore that let you put a 1/4 inch mpt barb connector into one end and screw on a keg post on the other.

That would work with k027 (1/4" tailpiece) on this page. http://www.northernbrewer.com/liquid-hardware.html
Then add a type B keg plug, and you're in business.

Yes. Thats what I'm talking about. A "corny post adapter". You can do a lot of cool things with those.....mostly to do with cleaning kegs, lines, draft boxes, etc.

nice! At least yours looks good.

I don't have pics at the moment, but my buddies and I bought an old fridge on Craigs List for $30 and drilled a hole in the front for the tap and ran the hoses. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
