3L soda bottle tap

Okay, I found a tap design for converting 2L and 3L soda bottles.

After thinking about it, I thought it would be great to use that design on 1/2gal or 1gal glass jugs, but I am unsure if they would hold the pressure?? But, they would fit my compact fridge outside!!

NB has them fairly reasonable priced. They are in the fermenting carboy area.

Has anyone used these 1/2gal or 1gal jugs for carbonating, and or kegging?

Thanks
Todd
