Newbie kegger, shortening draw tube.

Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:15 pm

Hi all,
First time around on all this.
I would like to cold crash my keg and then transfer to another for serving.
What about all the yeast thats gonna drop out during the cold crash?
Should I shorten the draw tube so that I don't pick it up during transfer? or just draw off as much as necessary to get clear beer and then proceed to the keg transfer?

Personally I just cold crash in the serving keg, dump out the first pint draw or two. I mainly do it this way because I have a limited number of kegs and really don't want to use one (or two or more) as a bright tank.

Welcome Brotha!

I just crash it and draw off a pint or so until it clears, I haven't really seen the need to cut the tube.
