Delayed Bottling

Mon Sep 03, 2007 6:28 pm

Just a quick question. I brewed my last batch and everything has been going great. Well when it came to bottling day I had to leave town. So my beer has been sitting in the primary fermenter for a little over two weeks now. Am I still good to bottle or has it been sitting in the primary fermenter for too long? Any suggestions?

Thanks

The beer will be fine. You are actually better off letting it sit. Many folks bottle too soon. Your beer will be clearer yet will still have plenty of yeast for bottling. If you were talking about leaving the beer in the fermenter for a number of months, then you would have a problem. 3 or 4 weeks is no problem at all.
