I'd change out all the gaskets to make sure there's nothing left over from the soda.

To include poppets? Or just all the rubber? Thanks!

Not enough rubber in the poppets to be a problem. I only change them if they leak.

Take a look at my kegerator (click me) and scroll down to the pic in the "CO2 Tank & Gas Supply Lines" section. It shows a 5 gal carboy with 3 pc airlock inside, along with some corny's. You can just barely make out from the frost marks on the side that the top of the airlock is a little shorter than the corny. So, depending on how much taller your primary carboy is than your secondary, you should be able to fit it in there.

Oh, and VERY nice kegorator, damntheman!

BDawg - absolutely sweet set-up. I am expecting my chest freezer soon and plan to run kegs w/pony taps until can construct a collar. I really like the abilty the collar gives you to mount manifolds and put a larger Co2 cylinder outside. I expect to use styrofoam to "divide" the space so I can slightly heat a carboy (if needed) and serve from kegs.

Did you have clearance in your kegerator b-4 you built the collar?
