Sierra Nevada bottles?

Sat Nov 05, 2005 5:32 pm

Hi all,
Being the frugel (cheap) person I am, and considering all the different beer out there that is in need of drinking, I usually will not buy a brew unless it is in a bottle I can clean and refill with my own beer. Therefore, I don't generally buy Sierra Nevada, because they are twist off. Has anyone re-used twist off bottle of this type with success?

I have had mixed results with them. Sometimes the carb up nice and sometimes they don't, with all things being equal. I'm fond of DogFish Head 90 IPA so I use thier bottles. The labels come off easy and the bottles work great for homebrew.
Peace!

You can only use twist offs if you have the special thin crown for them, & a bench capper.
