Smple is good, especially given the line of cost effective drills available, and even the high troque low geared low speed versions for <$50.

I am working on and have the components for a hydraulic drive mill. Just for kicks and giggles. Crimper power unit, piston motor, small displacment, and pressure control for infinite speed control. Issue is low speed operation with the hydraulic motors, but still keep the power unit small and affordable and direct drive.

Please post pictures of that when you're finished. I really enjoyed seeing your beer sculpture.

Thanks Bad Goat. May be a while. I am dismantling the Mill stand to use as the EC box for the electronics on the Brew Stand.

Getting away from the tool box that houses all the PIDs, switches, relays, etc.

for about 2.5 years, i have been using an 8A dewalt hammer drill in drive 1 to spin my monster 2 roll mill. have never found a used 1/2 hp range yet........
