Here is mine WBB helped me build it... had to do a few mods due to the heat shields and high pressure burners.

Almost done...

One of the mods I made, the wind shield does a great job, but too great it seems in such tight quarters. So I tacked some 1" flat bar on end to allow for gas exhaust. I also added more flat bar across the front to block the excess heat from my valves and sight glasses. Works great and after 3 brew days the paint isn't burning off at all!

Not really a 'system' yet, but I'm tooling up at the moment to build a single tier!

Hi, thought Id share my set ups with y'all! So these are my two rigs!

The 'Big Rig' is a 3 vesel 20G system.

50 plate heat exchanger from Germany.

So the system comprises of:

124L electric HLT which is a converted copper hot water cylinder from a central heating system

Here she is when I started

And a few minutes later :D. The cladding came off real easy. I used a hand saw to go round the tank where I wanted the lagging to come away then made some vertical cuts in the foam that was to come off. After that it was simply a case of using a screwdriver to peel the foam off.

Image

80L SS, double walled mash tun. these things come from France/Germany. they are designed for catering companies to keep soup/stew warm. False bottom and bottome drain mod later and its a fantastic mash tun that doesnt loose any heat.

Image

Finally the kettle. This is a 113L propane fired SS vessel that came from a Cargil flavourings plant that closed in Manchester. The thing is build like a tank and weighs 55kg empty!

Image

The bottom is dished and drains out completely.

Smaller and experimental batches get done on the little set up.

All in all I love it! i'm gonna cut a hinged top hatch in the kettle as the access as is can be quite tight and I need to bend the hop stopper to get it in an out for cleaning. Apart from that I couldn't be happier withit! :D

cheers

Hi Folks,

Have not posted here for a while.

My 2 Tier all electric RIMS setup.

Shed finished inside now, with floor draining and plumbing, plus a recirc for chilling water back to the rainwater tank. Rainwater pressurised with pump.

Keen to mirror the stand now though so control panel is next to power source and chiller is next to water points.

A new stand is on the cards!!!

(I hope this image shows up)
