Prism- unique but hit or miss
Round guys- about 10 mins from prism

Iron hill - I like the Chestnut Hill location best

Sly Fox - also one of my favorites

Also you may want to get the obligatory visit to monks out of the way before the conference starts. Philly bars are small and are usually full with just locals. If you throw in 3000 beer geeks then there is going to be lines down the block to get in. The good beer bars in that area are: Monks, Nodding head, Good Dog, José Pistolas. They are all within a couple of blocks from another and will probably have lines during the conference. Although Paxton knows the owner of Monks and Nodding Head so maybe he could get you in the back door.
