Made up language from the Pac NW

Sun Feb 09, 2014 5:38 pm

I'm trying to settle a bet. I remember a show where a brewer was talking about how the townies from his community had made up an entire language so they could make fun of tourists without pissing them off. Anybody remember which show it was, or better yet the city and what the language was called? I'm pretty sure it was in Washington or Oregon.

Thanks so much!

Not even California, just that one valley from what I remember.

Yup, Boontling. I lived in Boonville making Irish bagpipes for a few years back. There's only a couple old farts that still remember the language (more of a silly dialect of American English than a distinct language). The valley it originated in is Anderson Valley, about 2 hours or so north of San Francisco. Beautiful place, but don't blink while you're driving through or you might miss it. The show you want is one of the Fal Allen/Anderson Valley Brewing Co. shows.

So "yay come here to support our economy but we'll treat you like shit and be cowards while we're at it"? Awesome.

If you take what I post here literally, you're retarded. I'm here to fuck around, have a good time, and learn about beer. You mean nothing to me and I mean nothing to you.
