Loco for Faux Loko!

Thu Oct 14, 2010 6:32 pm

Since I'm 250 miles from the nearest ghetto, I will have to make my own Four Loko. A couple of Jolly Ranchers in a bottle of Mickey's should do it. It can't be any worse than the real thing?!

I dunno, I've been seeing them in bottle shops in nice neighborhoods. I never noticed them before, probably assumed that they were energy drinks. Keep you eyes out. Even ranchers and need to get cronked once in a while.

Won't even be close. Here's my Grape clone.

'Dur-ranK'
Two 8-ounce bottles of Dimetapp (or preferably grape flavored codeine based cough suppressant)
Five 1.5 ounce shots of store brand vodka
5 crushed NoDoz Alertness Aid Caffeine Caplets, Maximum Strength
2 crushed MaxHard Xtreme herbal pills

Following a protein rest, do a 20 minute infusion of NoDoz in Dimetapp at 120 F.

Cool and add vodka, primary for approximately 1 week, until NoDoz filler settles out. Add MaxHard Xtrme to secondary for approximately 2 weeks. Top with malt liquor to 24 ounces. Carb to approximately 4.

Notes: To make the European version Four MaXed, use absinthe in place of vodka. For a more authentic experience use 'shine from a lead radiator still in place of vodka.

The upper plus alcohol thing is a bit concerning. A guy I went to college with died of alcohol poisoning on his 21st birthday after getting coked up and hitting the bars. When you blackout, that's your body throwing in the towel. If you take a stimulant that helps you stay awake and drinking past the point you'd black out, you make it easier to hurt yourself.

That said, the next time I have a chance to drink before noon, I'm sure to open a can of dem lokos. I've just gotta try this stuff.
