BrewDog Show

Mon Jul 13, 2009 9:06 am

Is anyone else having trouble finding the BrewDog show from last night? I'm looking in iTunes and it keeps giving a bad URL address for The BN. Has the show been posted or am I just having a "technical difficulty"?

For the recipe for How to Disappear Completely, I think I have converted it.

How to Disappear Completely
OG 1037 FG 1010 5.2 gal/20L batch

3.5# Marris Otter
2.2# Caramalt
9 oz wheat
4 oz Crystal 120
4 oz amber malt
1 oz chocolate malt
.7 oz Centennial (mash hops)
1 oz Centennial FWH
.4 oz Centennial/60 min
1.4 oz Columbus/60 min
.7 oz Centennial/30 min
.7 oz Columbus/30 min
1 oz Centennial/3 min
1 oz Columbus/3 min
3.5 oz Columbus/Dry
Mash at 152F. Pitch Nottingham or English Ale yeast and ferment at 68F

Did I miss anything?

Just listening to the show again... I think the Dry Hop addition is off in your recipe. They called for 10 kilo for the dry hop - I think that would convert over to something like 3.2 oz. or something like that. I haven't done the conversion myself.

Yes, there are rounding problems. I came up with .35oz, and rounded. This is how I would weigh them:

20g Centennial Mash hop
30g Centennial FWH
10g Centennial/60 min
40g Columbus/60 min
20g Centennial/30
20g Columbus/30
30g Centennial/3
30g Columbus/3
100g Columbus/dry

I can see where I didn't round properly... but they're calling for 10Kg of columbus in the dry hop... that comes down to 100g in the dry hop for a 20L batch (5 Gal). That's what I was kinda trying to point out... they're just calling for a bigger dry hop addition.

YIKES! Just checked my notes and see that you are correct. Don't know why I read that incorrectly.

Make that 100g Columbus/ dry. I corrected my posts. Thanks for the backstop!
