For a while the meltdown was an entity that reared its head at the end of the Session, but that meltdown feel has been carried over to the beginning of the show now too. Unfortunately at times this leads to the interview, feedback, and other segments of the show becoming, what appears to be on occasion, an bothersome afterthought.

The addition of Nate to the Session has been great because his is more beer focused than Doc. The last couple of years it seems Doc just gets hammered, which is a shame because he knows a ton of shit.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Session and the other shows that the BN produces, that doesn't mean that I think that they are perfect. In my mind, the BN is the best in brewing info and entertainment on podcast, but that doesn't grant them infallibility.

Wow really? The last few show have been more on topic than ever. Goose Island, Cantillon, Gordon Strong, Deschutes.. are we listening to the same show?

Things progress and generally get better. Cars, rockets and beer shows. When we look back, do we see things though a filter?

We remember the great beer information ( it was new and we had never heard it before) and forget the fact Doc has been drinking on every show. He has effectively taught more people to brew buzzed than just about anyone on the planet. I miss Doc and wish him well. The greatest improvement to my beer has been listening to Doc.

You are correct, The Session is great. However, it must evolve and grow to be effective. Just as we want our children to go past our foot steps, we want them to grow and do better things.

Embrace the change, be part of it and always help others improve.

Did something happen to Doc? I haven't been keeping up on the Session shows as much as the Brew Strong and Can you Brew it.

Doc's taking a hiatus from the show for a little while... He had a lot going on with his family and it wasn't working out... He'll be back eventually, I hope.... :-/

Thanks Mills, I guess I just can' take someone serious that has difficultly forming a simple sentence. I also want my kids to grow and "DO BETTER" things, like speak intelligently so that others will respect them. I mean, a person can get the same information across without using F*** every third word.

Regarding the latest July 10th 2011 show with Lucky Bucket:

It's very evident that not everyone on the show is as enamored with discussing brewing (particularly homebrewing) as they were a few years ago. It's understandable after so many years, but the bitching and moaning about it on air certainly sucks to listen to. If I wasn't having fun anymore, I'd take a break from it.

I thought it was refreshing to hear Justin state he was still interested in discussing "already-done" topics. New people = new perspectives.
