Not bad for my 3rd all grain. This shit is fun!!

:D

I'm with you... just started AG myself. Did my saison and a batch of Janet's Brown. This just makes brewing feel like you're doing so much more - not to take away from the extract that I did before, loved that stuff - but once you make that leap to AG, that's it!!

Might be a bit of a problem in my case, as I live on the other side of the planet. Shipping becomes a little prohibitive.

Yes, yes. The aroma is hard to describe. The malt sweetness is muted at best. But so far, I like this. so far, this sounds like my experience with this recipe.

We don't get much exposure to big hopped beers down here, so it is going to take some getting used to for me. To give you some indication, last time I was in the states, I found Green Flash IPA almost undrinkable. Looks like I've got 5 gallons to help me get hooked. :)

I noticed when I kegged my batch that the hop flavor had mellowed a bit. It was still bitter, but not a strong as when I snuck a sample a week earlier. The keg goes into the fridge today, then an "official" tasting next weekend.

I had to replace my triple gas distributor, so when I hooked everything back up at lunch, I thought I would sample the How To Disappear Completely. Boy, there's a lot of trub at the bottom of the keg. It must have clogged my dip tube. Hopefully Bugeater is reading this and has some advice, but I plan to depressurize the keg, remove the out post, clean and sanitize it, and do the same to the dip tube. Reassemble, and see if that fixed it. Sound like an plan?

That's what I had to do. Actually, I found that it was the post that was getting clogged (transferring from a keg I used for the dry hop to the serving keg). This was even with 1" cut off the dip tube.

I will try the post first. If that doesn't correct things, then I will siphon it into another keg. But that's Sunday. Off to work, now. Yea.

I think I remember Bugeater offering this tip (I may be mistaken, but it sounds good...)

Hook up a beer out quick connect to your gas line, give a short burst of CO2 through the beer out connector, and force the trub back out the tube. If it doesn't work, then go ahead and take it apart, but taking it apart give you mroe opportunity to muck something up.

Good luck!

I dry hopped mine Friday evening... smells great!
