Re: A Show for the Little Guys (no, not Doc) Sunday, Oct. 25th

It seems like brewers get equally excited (hear the session with the guy from the Oakland brewery) about Maytag's trademarking of "Steam Beer."

A couple of years ago I read about how some yoga douche wanted to trademark "hot yoga," keeping other yoga douches from offering yoga classes in hot rooms. From the article that I read, if the trademark passed (it didn't) it had the potential to turn the whole trademark world on its head. Eg, people could trademark a type of karate, dance, maybe even an India Pale Ale.

To not just concentrate on Rock Art I think the best part of the show was the interview with Anat. It really goes to show that yes, even brewers can be one way in public and act another when they have to put more effort into walking the walk. The simple thing to change that is to not just buy Stone beer but to also buy 21A beer and smaller breweries near the cusp.
