Decide if haze or aroma is more important. With an IPA I say who cares about haze. Serve it in red solo cups if its that hazy...

Gel fining is easy. Chill the beer to 30F. I use distilled water, about 3/4 cup. I zap it 15 seconds at a time. Take temp readings at the end of each zap. At 100F I stir in a packet of gel using my thermometer to stir. Keep doing the 15 second zap till I reach 150-155F. Then I pour it into the 30F beer and give the fermenter a gentle 2 second rocking just for shits n giggles. I leave it at 30F for 3 days or more to let the gel settle out. Works like a champ.

For an IPA I would probably not do the gelatin, or maybe do that before dry hopping. I did it to a mosaic pale ale that I had dry hopped and then gelatin'ed in the keg. I ran off some bottles before doing it and then after and did a side by side with some other people and everyone said that the gelatin treated one was notably less hoppy. Big hit on the aroma and the flavor.

As Tasty would say if gelatin makes the hops drop off, next time add more hops ;) You can make hoppy and aromatic IPA's that are clear ;) I have done it using gelatin

I found that I had the best results when I used gelatin to drop the yeast out of it then dry hopped after that and didn't worry about a bit of hop haze that got introduced from the dry hops. For what it is worth, I gelatin almost all my beers because I really think dropping all the stuff out makes a nicer, more refined beer.

+1. Exactly. I gel fine all of my IPA's and they come out quite hoppy and aromatic.
