cheers! :pop

Made a Cascade Pale Ale in July with 1.5 lb of homegrown hops (I vacuum sealed them last year w/o drying). Entered in the MN State Fair comp. Got a 25.5.
Lots of "vegetal" comments. Still enjoyed the beer.
Gimme oysters and beer (and Durian) for dinner every day of the year...

Planning on brewing in the morning... Hop-toberfest? A reject extract kit with a bunch of left over hops of appropriate varieties dumped in, and fermented as an ale... hey, it'll still make beer.

Brewed up a 1987 ELM (East Lancashire Mild) recipe from Ron and Kristen at Shut Up About Barclay Perkins.

in an effort to reduce the grassiness I used regular hops throughout the boil and only used the wet ones (that were picked while mashing) in the whirlpool...I also left some bines on the plant to pick and immediately put in the dry hop...it is fermenting away now and smells great...there are chunks of yellow lupulin all over the top of the carboy!...making a german pils this week with my Santiam and Nugget plants with a similar approach...will repost when they're done with results
On Deck: porter, berliner weisse
Fermenting: xtra pale
In the keg/bottle: golden delicious apple cider, brown rice lager, german pils
