J. Thorton's 38DD is a sweet take on the Son of Fermentation Chiller.

Any idea how cold you could get that? Cold enough to chill 7or 8 cornies in with taps mounted on the top/back???

Absolute genius! Here I was trying to conceive some Rube Goldberg contraption to continuously drop ice cubes while I'm at work...However, unless you're thoroughly domesticated, you might not have a bundt pan. They run like 20 bucks. So let me go you one cheaper: put something round and heavy in the middle of an appropriately sized pot, fill the pot partway full, and freeze it. It won't have all the curly qs and doilees, but it'll work.

I intend to use this method with the carboy submerged in a spigoted kettle (easy to empty), then use an immersion aquarium heater ($20) in the kettle to stabilize the temperature at a few degrees higher. I'll keep you posted on the results.

That's what I was thinking, looks cool but I'd rather a chest freezer for that much $.
