I'm not really sure, but probably most of the two weeks. There was some Krausen formed, and a little left still, but after the first day I couldn't get a reading on the temperature, I chalked that up to the poor lighting, but I think it might just be the temperature was too low the whole time.

Your best indication is going to be your SG. I would take a reading and compare it to your OG. Depending on the type of beer and the yeast you used you should see a change of 60-80%

well... the problem is I donèt really have any way of taking a sample of the SG... any ideas... the best I can think of is to either transfer to a keg, and get a sample while doing that, or use the siphon tube and put it in the beer till its full, plug the other end and transfer that way... any easier ways...

p.s. my keyboard is fucked... it keeps typing in french, I can get a question mark... all I get is É

Need a way to get a sample? Raid the SWMBO's gadget drawer in the kitchen and steal here turkey baster. Sanitize it good and take your sample. I've been doing it this way ever since I started brewing. Might be a good idea to buy one of your own. If you need to pull a sample out of a carboy and the baster doesn't reach, just slide a piece of tubing over the end so you can reach.

great idea! Ièm off to the grocery store to get one! (And some milk and other essential items for a college student)

One more question... I have a pack of dry lager yeast, would it be worth it to use that instead of the US-05 I was going to use in my next batch. Making a Bee Hive Blonde Lager instead of ale.

Recipe:

6 lb LME
.5 lb Honey Malt
2 lb Honey
.5 oz Cascade @ 60 and 15
1 oz Cascade @ flameout

I just took the SG reading and I'm at 1.011. The target was 1.013 so I've definitely hit the target and its good to go!

Now off the the keg with this batch.
