I really only check my FG once after a good 14 days at least in primary and fermentation appears complete. Then into the keg it goes. Less work, less time, and less cleaning.

I usually check twice. First after three or four days, and then at kegging (usually after 14 days). Most of the time there is only a small difference in SG in these readings.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll go Oz's route with the refrac and then hydro.
