I attempted to brew the modified version of my P/B porter couple days ago. Everything was going great until i came up short on my final volume. No problem I though, iI'll just add some boiled/cooled water to bring it up some since my OG was about .010 to high. Since i havnt added water before on any batches I was unsure of how much i needed. Come to find out, added way to much and knocked my grav in half of what it should have been. At this point i was starving, tired and said the hell with it, pitched my young 001 starter and went to bed.
Next afternoon it was perking away in the house at about 70-72, so i put it in the laundry room where its a little cooler. Got up this morning and read the fermometer at 58*. Oh snap, so I left the door open some to warm up. Any need to worry about being too cold. It was still perking nicely and great foam on top. I may just be overreacting.
ps i didnt put it in my brewroom because i got a bunch of wine and boxes in it right now, didnt feel like cleaning everything out. Perhaps its about time to do so.
