Finings in cider?

Tue Jan 22, 2008 1:06 pm

Hi there all,
Just wondering if anyone has used finings before for cider. I haven't used anything beyond Irish moss in my beer. I have a cider that is slow to clear (mainly because I have used forbidden fruit yeast) and I am about to use gelatin. Anyone with experience i.e. flavour effects.
Cheers,

Gelatin should work and you shouldn't taste anything. Never used finings in cider myself, cold crashing seems to do well for me. I do like a little haze in my cider, doesn't look like piss that way.
