Fermaid K

Fermaid K nutrient use:

Correction from show archive and the use in beer, and what I stated on the show.

1g of Fermaid K per 1.6 Gallon of 'wort' or 'must' of wine

Morebeer.com sells this in 8g packages.

Fermaid K is used a lot in wine
(really helps with H2S reduction, known as hydrogen sulphide)

Helps a lot with re-introducing nutrients back into your fermentation

Ferm K is ideal for 1.060 gravity + beers, wines, meads, etc.

Whew! Good timing! I was about to use it this Tuesday on a big Wee Heavy...

Do you just toss it into the primary 2 days in or so? Stir, or just sprinkle on top?

Your suppose to use it when 2/3 of fermentation is done and rehydrate it before you pour it in. I rehrdrated mine in sterle water. I've only used it once in 3B'S Dopplebock, I poured 5 grams into the secondary after one week of primary. I had a 1.092 OG and now it's down to 1.021. Better attenuation than I usualy get with a high gravity beer, I'm using White Labs German Bock Yeast.
ENJOY YER BEER and let them that don't want none have memories of not havin' any!
