On the tee to puch PBW through the QDs, do you have a valve to turn of the main pipe?

I use this part from B3 (it has an auto shut-off):

H550 : Beer & Gas Line Quick Disconnect - In-line W/ Shut-off Set

So it basically shunts some of the solution from the main stem up through the dip tubes. If I'm cleaning carboys, I just diconnect the side tubing at the QD.

Any chance you could post a close-up pic of the cap? I'd like to see how you put the holes in it. Also, are the holes just in the cap, or in the shaft as well?

Thanks!

WingStall,
Sorry to be so long in replying to your post (not that you and I haven't been "communicating" elsewhere lately ;-)), but I haven't looked at this thread for awhile. Anyway, here is a close up of the cap on my washer. I simply drilled it with a 3/16" bit around the perimeter and in an X patter on top. No holes drilled along spray tube. Mine must be shorter than Doctor Scott's (story of my life  ) because mine seems to hit the scum line in the carboy just about dead on. Total length of spray tube and cap appox. 11".

In a proud voice he exclaimed, "Yeah, I gave her all five inches... And she was beggin' for more!"

She said, "I want 10 inches and I want it to hurt!"

So I f*cked her twice and beat the crap out of her.
