The Brewing Network Show- 11/6/05

Sat Nov 05, 2005 9:07 am

Hey kids,
TBN will be joined this Sunday by Dan Gordon of Gordon Biersch Brewing Company. We'll be discussing decoction mashing, German lager yeast and it's role in fermentation, and Hallertauer hops! Dan is a true pro with lots of traditional German beer education, so we're gonna pick his brain for everything we can get. Our official tasting at the top of the second hour this week (6:00 p.m. Pacific Time) will be Gordon Biersch's own Marzen, which is widely available. So have a couple Marzens chilled and ready to sample along with us. Also, Beer Jeopardy will be back this week, so don't miss your chance to win prizes!

Show starts at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Sunday (Monday, 0100 UTC.) Also, The Blues and Brews Show airs at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, Sunday (Sunday, 1900 UTC.) As usual, it's all live, commercial free, funny and informative. The best brewing program on the internet! Come check us out at:

It's great to see a picture of the brewer to be on the show. It's helps put a face to the voice.
Peace!

I ran out of new in-studio pix to post so it dawned on me that we could let everybody see who the guest is. Glad you like it. As far as a web cam goes, there has been talk of that. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Anybody have a problem with the audio in this episode? When I listened to it on my mp3 player, the volume dropped out in the left channel. Same for when I listen on my PC. It's only annoying because I only listen to the show with one earphone in (the left, since the right one doesn't work) so that I can hear traffic, conversation or shouts such as, "Everybody run for your lives! The building is on fire!"

Just wanted to notify the listeners/producers so that somebody doesn't freak and think they suddening have gone deaf. I'll just listen to the other channel with my "good" set of headphones.

I noticed the same thing! Problem is, the headphones I listen with at work are only one ear style (the left unfortunately) so a lot of what was being said was getting cut out. Justin - are you going to post a "clean" version of this show for us poor smucks who missed it live?

Justin chimed in on a similar discussion (Kick-Ass Show) reporting the problem was due to bad compression hardware in the studio. He expects it will be fixed by next Sunday.
