Good pics from the Portland brew fest in the gallery but what the hell is digeridoo? Is that a typo error, the name of the band or west coast music that hasn't made it here yet in the midwest?

A digeridoo is an aboriginal wind intrument from Australia that produces a buzzing, droning tone. There are several in the picture, the long tubes that are leaning against the left side of the stage.

Right. If you've ever watched the movie Crocodile Dundee (sorry ozzies) then you've heard a digeridoo (pronounced dij - er - ee - doo). they are cool, but real annoying. especially when hippy kids get their hands on them.

contry to many rumors, the Didge is not played by all Aborigonals.....Its only a few tribes that play them

It is as said, a chunk of wood that has been hollowed out, i think by termites....painded with little dots that everyone thinks is art...and its blown into...

Played well it can make a load of different animal noises, and can be quite hipnotic.....

Played bad, it sounds like someone farting in a vacumbe cleaner pipe.
