BN "Viewers" Needed!!

Sun Sep 13, 2009 1:35 pm

Hola BNARMY,

We need your help tonight during the live Session! We'll be beta testing some new video equipment and software that we'll be using to stream this years GABF awards ceremony and coinciding events. We are going to stream at a higher bit rate than normal for the studio cam to get closer to a High Def experience and also we'll be using multiple camera's to provide more angles and coverage.

We want this year's GABF video experience to be as close to perfection as possible so we need lots of viewers to tune in at once tonight to strain the bandwidth and test out output capabilities. So tune in, tell a friend, and do your damndest to crash us so we not what we can handle and what we can fix. (that do your damndest call does not apply to you Code. We all know you can bring us down with one fell swoop of the keys)

So please go to http://www.justin.tv/brewingnetwork at 5pm. There will be audio along with tonights video feed as well that should be just as good, if not better than the normal audio feed so feel free to listen through the video instead of running two different streams tonight.

Also, please join the normal BN chat to give real time feedback so our video dude can track and fix problems.

Thanks BNer's!

J

Video is looking awesome, and audio sounds great. Can't get into the BN chatroom though, some Java shit error.

And as I type this, the TV feed has locked up. Pants.

The video quality has been good, but it keeps freezing up on my internet. It would restart, but nothing is more frustrating than listening to stop and start streaming. Of course, it could be my old computer. I ended up giving up on the TV and sticking with the abacast stream.

Yeah, the video quality is awesome when it is running, but it rarely runs for more than about 2 minutes before freezing for me. Mind you, those poor electrons do have to travel a mighty long way to get over here, then they have to battle through my work firewall so it's no surprise if they're a bit tired.

G'day Justin,

The feed worked well down under, once I got rid of the interference from trying to run the audio podcast and the video audio. The video audio seemed more "alive" (not as exagerated as the am-fm difference, but definitely "felt" better to me).

I also had trouble running the normal forum on Firefox - whether that was something about the video channel causing drama or what I don't know, but when I ran the chat in a seperate IE session it all worked well.

I had a few issues with jitter, but by and large it was smooth. Good luck with GABF - wish I could be over there to join you guys!

Regards,

Andy
