Think of it as tasting a "doctored" beer so that you can broaden your knowledge of beer problems.

Well, okay. Since you insist, I will go out and get an oil can of Fosters for the show. But not 'til after I finish my pint of ESB here. I think I screwed up the brew session on this one. This is the third time I have brewed this recipe, but the first 2 weren't anywhere near as good as this one. For the life of me I can't figure out what I did different. Must have mismeasured something or put in a wrong malt or something. Oh well, I'm still going to drink it.

Well, I just got back from checking every beer store in town (all both of them) for Fosters. No luck. You can only buy domestic swill in a town this small. It's a good 25 mile round trip to the next nearest store that might have it. As you can see, this is one of the reasons I brew my own.

Oh, they did have one brand of imported swill, a six pack of Corona sitting right next to the front window (south facing, of course). I passed on that one too.

So, no Fosters, just good beer tonight.
