Bah! The Irish invented whiskey about 1500 years ago. The Scots liked the stuff and tried to copy it. They still haven't gotten it right.

Yeah, then the Americans (WOO HOO!) started making better whiskey than everybody! Kentucky Bourbon, baby. We should definately be proud of bringing something of value to the world market (besides great craft brew). Lord knows it wasn't our automobiles...

Go ahead and pick yourself up a bottle of Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon. It's pricey at $50-60 a bottle - but it will kick the shit out of any of that "foreign" whiskey. You'll thank me later... :)

Couldn't agree more. For the more budget-minded, I have been liking Bulleit Frontier Whiskey at $23. Almost too easy to drink for my own good.
