Gas Prices

Sat May 12, 2007 6:39 pm

Ha! If anyone deserves to pay $4+ for gas its SanFran. Puts a smile on my Houston Face. Look at the bright side, Deisel is only $3.59, oh wait, you can't buy a diesel car in Cali. Somehow it makes sense to ban a Jetta TDI, but allow hundreds of diesel powered ships to dock in your ports. Do they turn those engines off?

It also sounds like Texas is going to roll back the gas tax by 20 cents for the summer. That plus the shoppers discount at the grocery store. Looks like I could be getting gas at around $2.40 soon. Which is still to damn much but what can I do.

hopefully we can get some of our european friends here to hear what they are paying for gas. $2.91 is lowest i've seen but i haven't been on the road in 2 days.

That's not bad, when I go through MD (along 301) gas is usually 20-25 cents more than at home but it's been ~$2.80. 93 octane for the toy is right around the $3 mark.
It's stil way cheaper than what I was paying in Italy last summer. IIRC it was 1.25 Euro (~$1.50) per liter.

Europe's prices are higher because they are all over taxed socialists.

Pretty much $4/gallon plus here in Australia.

Or somewhere between $1.25 & $1.30 AUD per litre

But I mostly ride a motor scooter that gets about 60mpg so I really dont give a shit about petrol prices.

Of course, it must suck if you insist on driving a giant SUV when a compact would really do the job....

Save the planet, ride a scooter (well, kill it a little more slowly anyway...)
