old satellite TV equipment

Fri Feb 04, 2011 11:18 am

I recently ended service with a certain satellite company and cannot figure out what to do with the old equipment. Is there somewhere I can recycle a couple of old boxes and a dish? I want it out of my home ASAP as it is cluttering up some of what little space we have here. I could throw it in the trash but it just seems like there is something better than that to do with it. The satellite tv company doesn't want it back and has offered no suggestions as to how to get rid of it.

Try craigslist to sell/give it away or if its worth selling Ebay. No idea if there is any value in old sat hardware, but people buy all kinds of junk so its worth a shot

I'd put it out by the road with a free sign on it...it should disappear. I got rid of 2 bowling balls, a pair of broken skis, and an old Charbroil grill that way.

In my experience free stuff goes quicker if you put a sign that says $5 instead of free on it

I'm pretty sure it's not worth the gas it would take to come pick it up. It's several years old. I am just trying to find a way to dispose of it so it doesn't end up in a landfill.

How about a local freecycle group? Check around, they have forums all over...
