I feel the same way. I bought a bottle in the UK in December for 44 pounds (about $90). I can't even drink one small glass. What a waste of money.

I just listened to the Beer Skool show. It so made me not want to try Absinthe and I've always wanted to.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

Just to steer everyone away from thinking it's terrible, when I went to the Czech republic, I had it and ti was pretty damn good. One of the guys we were with told us how he wasn't sure but he thought he was gay and proceded to start crying while the rest of us laughed at him.

Needless to say it was an interesting night, but the flavor of the absinthe wasn't all that bad.

On another occasion, I had it where a friend of mine "made" it by mixing the wormwood, the concentrated absinthe mixture and Vladimir vodka. I vomitted profusely.
Ideating - Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Raspberry Wheat

I think among Absinthe drinkers the Czech version is the least favorite and the French absinthe is a lot better. The Absinthe Verte from St. George Spirits is very complex, heavy on the licorice and botanicals and a far cry from the grain alcohol based imitations out there in the market.

I love the stuff and look forward to what is on the horizon as we see more small producers getting on board.

Read all about it.
