Hey Lufah,

I live in Asheville and can recommend a couple places if you're interested. :)

If you want to check out any local breweries or beers, all of the following are pretty good....

http://www.pisgahbrewing.com/ ... is a USDA Certified Organic brewery that makes some good beers. The brewers there also support our local homebrew club quite a bit.

http://www.highlandbrewing.com/ ... is the largest brewery in town and make some great beers as well. You can find their stuff in bottles at local stores and beer/wine markets to take with if you like them.

http://www.jackofthewood.com/ ... is a brewpub that is pretty good. I'll warn you that its a very earthy/hippy crowd there. If that doesnt bother you, the food is good as well as the beer. They often serve cask ales with the hand pump. Good stuff.

http://www.yourgnometownbrewery.com/ ... is another brewery. I've never been out to see them but have had their beers the Brewgrass Festival. Not too bad for a smallish brewery.

http://www.frenchbroadbrewery.com/ ... is a good brewery as well. They've recently opened a tasting room in town. It's a decent little place. I like their Marzen Amber Lager (Oktoberfest). It's really true to style.

http://www.ashevillepizza.com/ ... was mentioned above. Good beer, fair pizza. I personally think Barley's is the best around but you can't get Asheville Pizzas anywhere but at their place.

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. If you don't have the time to check these places out and just want some good food and to try these beers, check out http://www.barleystaproom.com/asheville/. Great pizza, lots of taps. :)

If you want to get together for a beer while you're in town let me know. I'd be happy to meet you wherever. If not, I'd still like to offer you my contact info so that in case you run into problems or have an emergency, you would have someone to call. Just PM me if you want that. :)
