We're safe and sound! The really nasty stuff went north of downtown and south of I-459. We live in extreme southern Jefferson county, just north of the I-459 and I-65 junction. I just got word that a former coworker lost his mother and his aunt to a storm in south Alabama. The pictures of the damage are so unbelievable as to be almost surreal.
