Similar thing happened here (well, NSW) a few years back, only the driver managed to get through a warning and a red signal. 82 wagon loaded coal train (pulled by 2 Dash-8's) rear ended another 82 wagon loaded coal train. Not travelling as fast thankfully. Pictures are pretty spectacular. Amazingly no one was killed even though it happened at a passenger station.
