I think we should sue the stores that sell incandescent bulbs. That will solve everything right?

No, no, no. We need to sue Thomas Edison's decendants - he caused the problem so they should be held responsible!

After all, someone has to pay. Right?

You're missing my point. The majority was convinced and mislead by the politicians, so the politician could look like he is doing stuff. I don't blame that the majority wants these things, but I blame the politicians and special interest groups who scream and whine and convince mislead the majority.

You don't seriously think No Skateboarding ordnances are the result of a vast government conspiracy to mislead the people?

To a point, yes. Politics is all about getting votes, that is their job. Scapegoating is a very effective means of getting votes. Many politicians have risen to power by creating scapegoats. I wouldn't call it a vast government conspiracy because it is more a practice of individual politicians. It is a very common practice among politicians.

Exactly who or what do you think the skateboarders are scapegoats for?

Meister, you are obviously a really smart guy and you make good arguments... but why do you always make huge leaps in comparisons in your arguments?

In an earlier thread you compared ageism to racism, which I found to be a stretch (not that we need to bring that up again) and now you take the government laying out skateboarding ordinances and comparing it to the rise of Hitler??

This is why you can't take Liberterians seriously (or whatever Libertarian offshoot you said you were). Every Liberterian I know is the exact same way... very smart and able to make well made arguments... but always has to take an argument to some ridiculous level that makes you look at them and say, "Really? Seriously? No... really?"

Just sayin'...

And having said all that... I would like to proclaim:

I LIKE TURTLES!
