Alright, J. I'm no germ-a-phobe... but I'm with you on the toothbrush. I put mine in the drawer on a dry cloth with nothing else touching it. It would be great to put it into something to zap all the nasties off it.

That urban legend where the campers return to their tent and nothing is disturbed but their camera (film developed to show their toothbrushes inserted in an unholy place), gave me nightmares for several years.

It's my understanding that these work really well. They destroy the reproductive capabilities of germs thus they die with out reproduction. The only disadvantage is that they have to be used very close to the subject, like with in an inch or so. The farther you get away the less intense the UV is.
