Alright guys, longshot post, but I have an assignment for school (University of Colorado) that's coming due on Monday 10/15 and so I need some help.

My class group is working on a business plan for an automation infrastructure, primarily used for Aerospace, but that might have some application in Building Automation. So by Monday, I'm supposed to conduct two phone surveys/interviews about the viability of the concept with "people in the industry". Of course, I know nobody in this industry!

Building automation is pretty broad, but includes all the networked devices in modern buildings (security, lights, HVAC, power, etc). Example companies include Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, and TAC. Do you know someone at any of these companies who is available for a phone survey/interview? This is NOT a sales pitch, it's for a class project. I am available to call the contact anytime including Saturday and Sunday.

I do allot of work in automated testing software applications, but thats not the same thing sorry.

I think H2 may know something to help you. His company works with aerospace electronics. PM him to see if he can help.

You might also try Sentrol Life Safety Corporation up in Tualatin, Oregon. I used to work for them. They build all sorts of building systems monitoring equipment for outfits like Honeywell, ADT, and such.

If they are assholes they won't talk for free but I got interviews with all kinds of people for free when i went through college. Ignore TF...

I have a buddy who works for TAC, so send me an e-mail and I will try to broker a deal if you still have time. He is on the road a lot so hopefull there will be time in his schedule to assist you.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier but I worked for Honeywell in the building automation and security division for 10 years. I'm now working for Citect which is another automation company (mostly industrial stuff but they do buildings as well). If any of your contacts fall through and you don't mind calling Australia (I am on Skype) I'm happy to help out.
